HP Designjet Printers - Rejects A4 Cutsheet Media if Loaded in Landscape
Receiving several messages reporting problems when loading A4 cutsheet media in landscape.
The minimum length in the X-axis path (paper path) any printer will accept is 210 mm (8.3 in). See printer specifications in any User's Guide (210 mm is the A4 width).
When loading an A4 in landscape, the X-axis length of the media is 210 mm.
Sometimes the printer will reject the A4 media. The reason is that the length is less than 210 mm.
The only way to minimize this interaction between the printer and the A4 width variation is to load this media size in portrait and handle the rotation from the software application or by changing the settings on the SetUp sheet. If not, the printer will reject any A4 in landscape if the width is just a little bit less than 210 mm.
