HP Business Inkjet 3000 Series Printer - Numerical Printer Messages

Introduction
Most liquid-crystal display (LCD) control panel messages are status messages that display information about the current operation of the printer. In addition, the printer displays warning messages, error messages, and critical error messages. This document contains a brief description of each message category, explains the messages, and recommends what action to take to resolve any problem that is being reported.
To resolve a message, follow the instructions displayed on the LCD control panel. If following these instructions does not resolve the message, press and hold the (Power button) to turn off the printer, and then turn on the printer again. If the message persists after performing all of the recommended actions, contact an HP-authorized service or support provider.
  note:
Any button pressed during the 10-second display of an auto-continuable error message will override the auto-continue feature and the function of the button pressed will take precedence. For example, pressing (Cancel Job button) will cancel the print job.
LCD control panel message types
Status messages
Status messages reflect the current state of the printer. They offer information about normal printer operation and require no action to clear them. They change as the state of the printer changes. Whenever the printer is ready, not busy, and has no pending warning messages, the status message "READY" is displayed if the printer is online.
Warning messages
Warning messages display information about data and print errors. These messages typically alternate with the "READY" or "STATUS" message and remain displayed until the (Select button) is pressed.
Error messages
Error messages communicate that some action must be performed, such as adding paper or clearing a paper jam. Some error messages are auto-continuable. If the AUTO CONTINUE setting is ON, the printer will continue normal operation after displaying an auto-continuable error message for 10 seconds.
Critical error messages
Critical error messages display warnings about device failure. Some of these messages can be cleared by pressing and holding the (Power button) to turn the printer off and then on again. The AUTO CONTINUE setting in the System Setup menu does not affect these messages. If a critical error persists, service is required.
  note:
The control panel messages are listed in numerical order.
