Step 1
Remove the access panel.
For instructions on removing the access panel, go to Remove and Replace the Access Panel for OMEN by HP Obelisk 875-0xx Desktop PC and OMEN by HP 870-xxx Desktop PC.

Step 2
Detach the hard drive power cable and SATA cable from the base of the hard drive cage.

Disconnect the hard drive power cable and the SATA cable from the hard drive.

Step 4
Push the two plastic tabs at the top of the hard drive holder towards each other to flex the holder.

Step 5
Keeping the hard drive holder flexed, slide the holder and the hard drive out of the hard drive cage.

Step 6
Grasp the holder on either side and flex it to remove the hard drive from the holder.Remove the hard drive and keep the holder.

Step 1
Align the grommet pins on one side of the hard drive holder to the holes on one side of the hard drive.

Step 2
Insert the grommet pins into one side of the hard drive.

Step 3
Flex the holder to insert the grommet pins into the other side of the hard drive.

Step 4
Slide the hard drive and its holder into the hard drive cage.

Step 5
Connect the SATA cable and power cable to the hard drive.

Step 6
Secure the SATA and power cables with the clip at the base of the hard drive cage.

Step 7
Replace the access panel.
