Samsung CLX-8380 Color Laser MFP - Clearing Original Document Jams

This document shows you how to clear a paper jam in the printer. When an original document jams while passing through the Dual Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) a warning message appears on the display.

caution:
To avoid tearing the document, remove the jammed document gently and slowly.

note:
To prevent document jams, use the scanner glass for thick, thin, or mixed paper-type originals.

DADF cover jam

If paper is jammed in the DADF, use these steps to release the jammed paper.

Remove any remaining pages from the DADF.
Open the DADF cover.

Remove the jammed paper by gently pulling it out of the DADF.

note:
If you see no paper in this area, refer to the instructions in the section Roller misfeed jam.
Close the DADF cover. Then load the removed page(s), if any, back into the DADF.

Exit misfeed jam

If paper is jammed in the DADF exit area, use the steps to release the jammed paper.

Remove any remaining pages from the DADF.
Open the DADF cover.

Open the document input tray upwards and pull the document gently out of the DADF.

Close the DADF cover and the document input tray. Load the removed pages back into the DADF.

Roller misfeed jam

If paper is jammed in the DADF roller, use the steps to release the jammed paper.

Open the scanner lid.
Remove the paper from the feed area by carefully pulling it to the right using both hands.

If you do not see the paper in this area, stop and go to the next step.
Open the white document background.
