DESCRIPTION
Systems listed in the "Scope" may intermittently lose network connectivity for 10-15 seconds and then resume. The anomaly can occur when the default amount of memory allocated to either the transmit or receive buffers is not adequate for high data rate transmissions (greater than 100 Mbps) over a Gigabit network. The anomaly has been observed with UDP transmissions, but other protocols could be affected as well.

SCOPE
Information in this document applies to the following:

RESOLUTION
Resolve the issue by increasing the driver configurable transmit and/or receive buffers:
  1. Increase the Transmit Buffer size to Max (2048). If this resolves the issue, then skip Step 2.
  2. Increase Receive Buffer to Max (2048).
NOTE
Windows 7 and later operating systems dynamically manage the total buffer size configured in the driver. It should not be necessary to look for smaller buffer sizes unless it is desirable to manually limit them. In that case, try incrementally decreasing the buffer sizes to find the optimum favorable configuration.
Warning! Do not use a smaller buffer sizes than the defaults:
Transmit default is 640
Recieve default is 256
