HP Designjet 100plus and 110plus Series Printers - Windows Office Driver Installation

Introduction
This document contains information on installing and uninstalling the printer driver in Windows (95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP). Both USB and Parallel connect instructions are included along with the features of the driver.
Windows driver installation
For all operating systems, use the HP Designjet Software Setup CD. Note the following considerations depending on the system and the type of connection between the printer and the computer.
USB connection
Connect the USB cable to your computer and then to your printer.
Windows 2000 or XP
  1. The "Add New Hardware Wizard" should appear on your screen; click Cancel.
  2. Insert the CD into your drive.
  3. If the CD does not autorun, run the SETUP.EXE program in the root directory of the CD. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Windows 98 Second Edition
  1. The "Add New Hardware Wizard" should appear on your screen; click Next.
  2. When you are asked What do you want Windows to do? select Search for the best driver for your device.
  3. When Windows searches for a new driver, select Specify a location.
  4. Insert the CD into your drive. The CD autoruns; select Cancel.
  5. Select Browse in the Windows search dialog, and browse to the USBWIN98\100 folder on the CD and click OK. Windows will then install the USB driver class for the printer (this is NOT the printer driver).
  6. When Windows finishes the USB driver installation, either remove and reinsert the CD or run the SETUP.EXE program in the root directory. This time, select the appropriate language and click OK.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Windows ME
  1. The "Add New Hardware Wizard" should appear on your screen; click Next.
  2. When you are asked What do you want Windows to do? select Specify the location of the driver.
  3. When Windows searches for a new driver, select Specify a location.
  4. Insert the CD into your drive. The CD autoruns; select Cancel.
  5. Select Browse in the Windows search dialog, and browse to the USBWIN98\100 folder on the CD and click OK. Windows will then install the USB driver class for the printer (this is NOT the printer driver).
  6. When Windows finishes the USB driver installation, either remove and reinsert the CD or run the SETUP.EXE program in the root directory. This time, select the appropriate language and click OK.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Parallel connection
  caution:
Turn the printer and computer off before connecting the parallel cable to protect the parallel port from being damaged.
Windows 95
Follow the instructions in the CD booklet.
Other Windows systems
If the CD does not autorun, run the SETUP.EXE program in the root directory of the CD. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Windows office driver features
The Windows Office driver for use with your is available on the HP Designjet Software Setup CD. Use this driver for printing drawings and office documents from applications such as AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Reader, CorelDRAW, and Web browsers.
This driver can be used with Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4, 2000, and XP operating systems.
It includes:
  • Print Quality (Fast/Normal/Best)
  • Orientation (Portrait/Landscape/Mirror/Rotation)
  • Paper Type
  • Paper Size (Standard and customized)
  • Paper tray (default/Tray1/Front manual feed/Rear manual feed)
  • Number of Copies
  • Quick Sets
  • Scale to fit/Scale to % (ZoomSmart)
  • Color use (color/grayscale/pure black)
  • Color Smart (vivid/match screen/no color correction/used-defined color correction)
  • Lightness (lightening or darkening)
  • Show printing progress (in pop-up window)
  • Autorotation/inked area
These additional functions are available with the Windows 2000, XP, and NT 4.0 drivers:
  • Multiple pages per sheet (2, 4, 6.../Page order)
  • Tiling (Poster Printing)
  • Start printing from the last page
Resolutions provided by the driver
  • Fast: 300 dots per inch
  • Normal: 300 dots per inch (default)
  • Normal: 600 dots per inch (optimized for line drawings)
  • Best: 600 dots per inch
