DESCRIPTION
The internal SATA hard drive and the optical drive (DVD) appear as removable hardware when viewed in Windows Explorer. They are also listed in the list of removable devices after clicking the Safely Remove Hardware icon (in task tray).

HP has posted a SoftPaq that updates the system BIOS and resolves the issue. Please use the following instructions to locate and download HP Compaq Business Desktop ROMPaq Firmware (ROM Family ROWPN), Version 1.07, Revision A (or later).
NOTE
SoftPaq download instructions:
  1. Click link for the appropriate Business Desktop PC model.
  2. Click the Download drivers and software link.
  3. Click the link for the appropriate operating system.
  4. Click the BIOS link.
  5. Click the SoftPaq link: HP Compaq Business Desktop ROMPaq Firmware (ROM Family ROWPN).
  6. Read the instructions and release notes carefully before proceeding.
  7. Click the Download button to download the SoftPaq.
NOTE
The SoftPaq/software is subject to change without notice. If you find a later version than the one indicated in this document, HP recommends using the later version instead.
