HP Color Laser 178, 179 Printers - Loading Paper, Envelopes

Learn how to properly load paper or envelopes into the input tray.
Load plain paper
Load a stack of paper into the input tray.
Pull out the input tray.
Open the paper cover.
To switch between U.S. Letter and A4-size paper or load legal-size paper, extend the input tray by pressing the latch and pulling out the front of the tray.
Turn over the input tray, grasp the lever, and then rotate the lever clockwise for letter or counterclockwise for A4.
Turn the input tray right-side up, and then push in the extended tray until it snaps into place.
Nota:
Leave the input tray extended for legal-size paper.
Slide out the paper guides as far as possible.
Load paper into the tray print side up with the top edge towards the printer. To prevent paper jams, make sure the stack is below the paper fill guide.
Slide in the paper guides until they touch the edge of the stack of paper.
Close the paper cover, and then push in the input tray.
Pull out the output support.
Nota:
Before printing or copying, select the correct tray, paper size, and paper type settings from the control panel or computer.
Load envelopes
Load a stack of envelopes in the input tray.
Pull out the input tray.
Open the paper cover.
Extend or shorten the input tray by pressing the latch and pulling out or pushing in the front of the tray, and then slide out the paper guides as far as possible.
Load envelopes into the input tray. To prevent paper jams, make sure the stack is below the paper fill guide.
Slide in the paper guides until they touch the edge of the stack of envelopes.
Close the paper cover, and then push in the input tray.
Pull out the output support.
