HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28-M31 Printers - Loading Paper, Envelopes
This document is for HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28a, M28w, M29a, M29w, M30a, M30w, and M31w
printers.
This document provides instructions for loading plain paper or envelopes into the printer.
Load plain paper in the input tray
Load plain U.S. letter or A4 size paper in the input tray.
Pull down the output tray.
Pull out the input and output tray extensions.
Load a stack of U.S. letter or A4 size paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side up. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.
Attenzione:
To prevent jams, do not overfill the tray.
Slide in the paper guides until they rest against the edges of the paper. Do not push the paper guides so far in that they bind the paper.
Nota:
After loading paper, make sure to select the correct paper size and paper type settings when printing or copying.
Load envelopes in the input tray
Load up to five envelopes in the input tray.
Envelope guidelines
Refer to the following guidelines to make sure the envelopes print successfully.
Do not use envelopes with clasps, snaps, windows, coated linings, self-stick adhesives, or other synthetic materials that are susceptible to heat.
Do not use envelopes that are wrinkled, nicked, stuck together, or otherwise damaged.
If you use envelopes with peel-off adhesive strips, make sure they are approved for use in laser printers.
Only use envelopes recommended for laser printers.
Use envelopes with seams that extend to the corners.

Load envelopes in the input tray
Load envelopes in the input tray to print addresses for the recipient and sender.
Pull down the output tray.
Pull out the input and output tray extensions.
Load up to five envelopes into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side up. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.
If the envelope flap is on the short edge, position the envelope with the flap-side up, and then insert the short edge without the flap toward the printer.
If the envelope flap is on the long edge of the envelope, position the envelope with the flap-side down, and then insert the short, postage edge toward the printer.

Slide in the paper guides until they rest against the edges of the envelopes.
Nota:
After loading envelopes, make sure to select the correct envelope size and envelope type settings when printing or copying.
