HP Printers - Finding Ink Cartridges after Moving to Another Country/Region

HP customizes some printers and ink cartridges to meet local customer needs. If you take your printer from one country/region to another country/region, you might not find ink cartridges with the same number on the label as your original ink cartridges. If you install an ink cartridge with a different number on the label, you might see one of the following error messages:
  • Incompatible Cartridges
  • Cartridge Not Intended for this Printer
  • Incorrect Cartridges
If your printer or ink cartridges are within warranty, an HP support agent can help you resolve this issue.
note:
In Brazil, your printer must be in warranty for HP to help with this issue.

Step 1: Make sure your computer is connected to your printer

Make sure your computer is connected to your printer with a USB or network connection.

Step 2: Obtain compatible ink cartridges for your country/region

Before you contact HP, you must have a full set of genuine HP ink cartridges for your current country/region.
note:
HP does not supply replacement ink cartridges for your printer when you move.
Purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.

Step 3: Contact HP support

Once you have a full set of genuine HP ink cartridges for your new country/region, HP support can reset your printer so it accepts the ink cartridges available in your current country/region. On this page, click Contact Support, and then follow the on-screen prompts to contact HP.
