Experiencing frequent or recurring paper feed issues?
Follow these guidelines to help prevent paper feed issues.
-
Align the paper against the right side of the scan tray. Make sure that the paper rests against the inside edge of the scan tray.
-
Adjust the paper guide on the left side of the scan tray so that it fits snugly, but not tightly, against the paper. Do not cause the paper to bend or crinkle.
-
Do not overload the scan tray with paper.
caution:
The scan tray holds a maximum of one sheet of paper. Inserting more than one page can cause jams and possibly damage your original. -
Only load paper into the scan tray when the product is not printing.
-
Make sure that the product supports the paper type that you want to print on. See the documentation that came with the HP product for more information.
-
Do not print on paper with paper clips or staples attached.
-
Do not use paper that is bent, torn, dusty, damp, wrinkled, curled, or paper that does not lie flat.
-
Do not use paper that is too thin, too thick, or too glossy for the product.
-
Make sure that the product parts are clean and free of dust or sticky material.
