Confirm any error messages that display, and then use one of the following sections to find and clear any paper that might be stuck in the area of the printer indicated by the message. If the error message does not indicate a specific area, or if no error message displays, use all the following sections to clear jammed paper from the printer.
You need a flashlight to complete some of these steps.

Clear jammed paper from the output tray area
When a jam occurs in the output tray area, the
Attention light

on the control panel blinks, and a
Paper Jam in Output Tray message might display. Remove any jammed paper that is accessible from the output tray area.

Use both hands to remove any jammed paper or objects from the output tray.

Try to print again.
If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.
Clear jammed paper from the input tray area
When a jam occurs in the input tray area, the
Attention light

on the control panel blinks, and a
Paper Jam in Tray message might display. Remove any jammed paper that is accessible from the input tray area.

Remove the input tray.

Use a flashlight to check for any paper or objects in the input tray area, and then remove any paper or objects you find. To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands.

Reinsert in the input tray.

Try to print again.
If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.
Clear jammed paper from the fuser area
When a jam occurs in the fuser area, the
Attention light

on the control panel blinks, and a
Paper Jam in Fuser message might display. Remove any jammed paper that is accessible from the fuser area.

Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and any other cables.

Turn the printer so that the rear access door faces you.

Open the rear access door.

Use a flashlight to check for any paper or objects in the fuser area, and then remove any paper or objects you find. To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands.
caution:
The fuser is located above the rear door, and it is hot. Do not attempt to reach into the area above the rear door until the fuser is cool.

Close the rear access door.

Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet, and then turn on the printer.

Try to print again.
