DESCRIPTION

Issue 1: A cable warning appears when a unqualified USB-C cable is connected to the monitor.

The following warning messages may appear:

USB-C:

Caution - An unqualified USB-C cable has been detected.

Please use a qualified HP USB-C cable supported by this monitor to ensure the best performance.

Issue 2: A Windows 10 warning message indicates the functionality of the USB Type-C connection between the monitor and PC has limited functionality. A USB-C to USB-A cable may be in use, or the computer does not support the DisplayPort (DP) over the USB-C connection.

The following warning messages may appear:

Try improving the USB connection.

DisplayPort connection might not work. Try using a different cable.

Display connection might be limited.

Make sure the DisplayPort device you're connecting to is supported by your PC.

RESOLUTION

To prevent the message from appearing, perform the following steps to disable the Non-HP Cable Warning feature, or the warning message from Windows 10.

Select Menu Control from the main OSD menu.
Select OSD Messages.
Uncheck Non-HP Cable Warnings to avoid the cable warning or the Windows USB-C messages.
Exit the OSD menu.
