This document applies to HP ProBook 640 and 645 G2 notebooks.

warning:Make sure the computer is disconnected from power before starting. Before starting, power off the computer and wait for components to cool before starting these procedures.

Step 1
Remove the bottom cover.

Step 2
Remove the battery.

Step 3
Push both arms outward simultaneously to release the memory module to the spring tension position.

Step 4
Grasp the memory module by the edges and pull gently to remove it.

Step 5
Place the memory module in a static dissipative bag.

Grasp the memory module by the edges and remove it from the static dissipative bag.

Step 2
Align the notch in the memory module with the key in the memory module slot on the system board.

Step 3
At an angle, gently insert the memory module into its slot on the system board.

Step 4
Press the memory module down to latch the arms. The clips will snap into place and hold the memory module in place.

Step 5
Replace the battery.
