HP DeskJet 1110, 1200 Printers - Setting Up Printer Hardware

1. Remove the printer from the box.
2. Remove all tape and packing materials from the outside of the printer.
3. Lower the output tray.
4. Reach inside the printer, grasp the handle, and then lower the ink cartridge access door.

5. Remove all tape and packing materials from inside the printer.

6. Close the ink cartridge access door.

7. Make sure that you remove all hardware and materials from the box before you discard or recycle the box and packing materials.

note:

Do not connect a USB cable at this time. The connection to the computer is set during the driver and software installation.

1. Connect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.

2. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.

1. Grasp the handle and lower the ink cartridge access door to open it.
   The carriage moves to the center of the printer.

2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. Remove one of the ink cartridges from its package. Be careful to only touch the black plastic on the ink cartridge.
4. Remove the plastic tape.

     caution:

   Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Do not replace the protective tape on the contacts. Handling these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

5. Hold the ink cartridge by its sides with the nozzles toward the printer, and then insert the ink cartridge into its correct slot.
   • Insert the black ink cartridge () into the right slot.
   • Insert the tri-color ink cartridge () into the left slot.
6. Slide the new ink cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot, and then gently push up on the ink cartridge until it snaps into place.

7. Repeat these steps to install the other ink cartridge.
8. Close the ink cartridge access door.

1. Raise the input tray.

2. Slide the paper width guide as far as possible to the left.

3. Load a stack of U.S. letter, A4, or legal size paper into the input tray with the short edge down and the print side facing you. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.

4. Slide the paper width guide to the right until it rests at the edge of the paper. Do not push the guides in so tightly that they bind against the paper.

5. Lower the output tray, and then pull out the output tray extender.
