Faxing is the process of using a fax machine or fax-capable printer to scan a document and then send a facsimile of that document via a landline (telephone) connection to another fax-capable device. That fax machine then prints out the received document. Faxing is useful to quickly send and receive signed copies of legal or medical documents. Because faxing uses a dedicated landline instead of an Internet connection, faxing is also more secure than email. Use this document to help you set up your printer for faxing, send and receive faxes, and troubleshoot fax issues.
