HP Deskjet, Photosmart 5520 Printers - Control Panel Features

This document is for HP Photosmart 5520, 5522, and 5525 e-All-in-One and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One printers.
The control panel contains buttons and icons to run the printer and a control panel display to select print options.

Control panel buttons and icons

From the control panel, access the Home button, verify wireless connectivity, and access Help menus. Touch the directional buttons to navigate between the two home screens.

  1. Home button: Returns to the Home screen, which is the screen that displays when you first turn on the printer.
  2. Help button: On the Home screen, shows all Help topics. On another screen, displays information or animation for the current operation.
  3. Directional buttons: Allow you to navigate through two home screens, photos, print previews, apps, and horizontal menu options.
  4. Back button: Returns to the previous screen.
  5. Cancel button: Stops the current operation.
  6. ePrint icon: Open the Web Services Summary menu to check ePrint status details, change ePrint settings, or print a Web Services Information page.
  7. Wireless icon: Open the Wireless Summary menu, to check the wireless status and change wireless settings. You can print a wireless test report to help diagnose network connection issues.
  8. Ink icon: Touch to display the estimated ink levels by ink cartridge. The icon displays a warning symbol if the ink level is less than the minimum expected ink level.
  9. Settings icon: Open the Settings menu to change preferences and use tools to perform maintenance tasks.
  10. Photo: Open the Photo menu to view and print photos, or reprint a printed photo.
  11. Apps: Touch to access and print information from the web, such as coupons, coloring pages, puzzles, and more.
  12. Copy: Open the Copy menu to select a copy type or change the copy settings.
  13. Scan: Open the Scan menu to select a destination for your scan.
  14. Quick Forms: Use HP Quick Forms to print calendars, check lists, games, notebook paper, graph paper, and music paper.

Wireless status light and button

Determine the status of the wireless connection with the wireless status light. Use the wireless button to display wireless connection information.

  1. Wireless status light:
    • A solid blue light indicates an active wireless connection.
    • A slow blinking light indicates that the wireless feature is on, but the printer is not connected to a network. Make sure your printer is within range of the wireless signal.
    • A fast blinking light indicates a wireless error. Refer to the message on the printer display.
  2. Wireless button: Press the Wireless button to display wireless status, IP address, network name, hardware address (MAC), and Wireless Direct status.
