HP Z420 Workstation - Removing and Replacing the PCI Card Guide/Front Fan Assembly

In this case, either the "Original" or the "Modified" spare number may be shipped which will not affect performance or functionality of the unit.

Remove the access panel. Click here to view how to remove the access panel.

Remove the front bezel. Click here to view how to remove the front bezel.

Remove the PCIe cards blocking access to the connectors. Click here to view how to remove the PCIe card.

Disconnect the front fan cable from the system board.

Press the release tabs on the front of the chassis to disengage the PCI card guide.

Rotate the PCI card guide back and lift it out of the chassis.

Insert the tabs on the bottom of the PCI card guide into the slots on the front chassis wall.

Rotate the PCI card guide up against the chassis and push until it snaps into place.

Connect the front fan cable to the system board.
