HP Pro 3120 Desktop PC Series - How to Configure WOL for S5 (Shutdown) State

Information
By default, a user cannot wake up a Pro 3120 Desktop PC from S5 state (shutdown). Some settings must be checked first.
Details
To be able to wake up a Pro 3120 Desktop PC from S5 state, please follow this process:
  1. Enable the WOL in S5 feature in the BIOS Setup Utility:
  2. Check the Realtek 8111DL Network Interface Properties to reflect the following settings:
    • Shutdown Wake-On-Lan must be enabled. By default, it is disabled.
    • Wake on Magic Packet, Wake on Pattern Match and WOL & Shutdown Link Speed should be left to the default values.
If those conditions are met, the Pro 3120 Desktop PC will be able to wake up from S5 state provided that it has been properly shut down.
WOL does not operate for a unit whose power cord has been removed or whose power has been lost accidentally.
  note:
Waking up from S3 (stand-by) and S4 (hibernation) is still available.
