HP Notebook PCs - Using and Configuring the ClickPad

This document is for HP Notebook computers with a ClickPad pointing device.
Some HP notebooks come with a ClickPad pointing device. Unlike a TouchPad which has physical buttons for right-click and left-click actions, the ClickPad consists of a single, continuous surface. Depending on the model, the ClickPad surface is plain or it has graphical demarcations to indicate different actionable regions such as regions marked for left and right-clicks or up and down scrolling.
  1. Turn the ClickPad On or Off
  2. Left-click area
  3. Right-click area
The ClickPad interprets various gestures on its surface as different actions. For example, a two-finger leftward swipe while browsing a web site takes you to a previously viewed page or double-tapping the ClickPad while the mouse cursor hovers over a text file opens the file in your default text editor.
You can adjust the sensitivity of the ClickPad and enable or disable some features and gestures. It takes practice to use the ClickPad well.
