HP Color CM8060 and CM8050 MFP with Edgeline Technology - Usage by User Report

Use the Usage by User Report feature to print a usage report that shows the page count for color and total print/copy pages for each device user. The Usage by User Report shows the letter or A4 equivalent page counts within the last two usage tracking periods. The report is sorted by domain or the method used to sign in to the device, and then alphabetically by user.
The Usage tracking periods available from the factory are weekly or monthly, depending upon the how the Administrator set up the Usage Tracking within the Restrict Color/Limits page of the EWS. If the usage tracking period is monthly, the tracking period starts on the first of the month. If the usage tracking period is weekly, the tracking period starts on Monday.
Pages printed from a user's computer will automatically be shown under their network domain/username account listing. When walking up to the device, users must sign in to make a copy or retrieve a stored job in order to accurately track usage. The user must sign in with the same network domain username account listing at the device for Copy or Retrieving stored jobs for usage to be tracked under the same account. Another option for monitoring copy or retrieved jobs is to create a shortcut account, such as a Local Device access code account, where the domain/username information is stored in the shortcut account. Internal pages, such as the Configuration Page will show up under the Local/Other account. Received faxes are tracked under the Local/Fax account.
The report includes a Total Limit and a Color Limit for each user account. If Limits are disabled, "No Page Limit" will display for the user account. If Limits are enabled, the page limit for each user account will be shown in addition to the counts the user had when last using the device. Note that the Usage by User report will not necessarily display the current limit/permission set numbers because it displays the information as of the last time the user used the device.
User accounts are provided the maximum limit of all the Permission Sets to which they belong. For example, if a user account is tied to a Device User permission set and allowed 1000 color pages per month and the Device Administrator permission which as No Page Limit, then the user would get the No Page Limit permission. If a user needs additional pages than is currently allowed for the Permission Set assigned to the account, a temporary limit override can be set for the user account on the Restrict Color/Limits page of the embedded Web Server.
If usage limits are enabled, the Usage by User Report is the most effective way to verify which Permission Set is applying limits on a per user basis, given a user that is part of several network groups, with each network group potentially tied to a unique permission set. If a user account is in a temporary override state, this is depicted on the report. Temporary overrides disappear at the start of the next usage tracking period. Resetting the usage tracking manually, using the manual reset button in the EWS, starts a new usage tracking period. This will affect the data shown on the report because the data is only shown for the last two periods. Therefore, if you press the manual reset button a couple of times, there may not be any data on the report.
