Clearing the CMOS settings
The Clear RTC RAM (3-pin CLRTC) jumper allows you to clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS. It also allows clearing of date, time, and system setup parameter memories in CMOS, by erasing the RTC RAM data. The onboard button cell battery powers the RAM data in CMOS, including system setup information.
  1. Turn off the PC and unplug the power cord.
  2. Move the CLRTC jumper cap from pins 1-2 (normal) to pins 2-3 (clear CMOS).
  3. Keep the jumper cap on pins 2-3 for 5 to 10 seconds, then move back to pins 1-2.
  4. Plug in the power cord and turn on the PC.
  5. Enter the BIOS setup to change the BIOS settings.
Clearing the BIOS password
The BIOS password protects the BIOS from undesired changes (Focus password checking is disabled by default). If password checking is enabled, and you need to disable it, use the following steps:
  1. Move the J11 jumper cap from pins 2-3 to pins 1-2 to enter BIOS setup without a password.
  2. To enter BIOS setup, start the PC and press the F1 key as the PC boots.
  3. Clear or reset the BIOS password.
  4. Save the BIOS settings and shutdown the PC.
  5. If desired, re-enable BIOS password checking by returning the J11 jumper cap to pins 1-2.
