This document introduces the main features of the device options tab for the Universal Print Driver.

Device configurations
The Device Options tab lets you configure a variety of settings.

Clicking Advanced opens the Advanced Tray Options menu where you can review and configure settings for each tray.

Advanced Features section
The advanced Features section lets you configure settings for the print job, including customized tray mapping and admin job accounting.

Printer Status: displays printing status during printing

Stylish User Interface: activates Stylish UI on Driver Preferences

EMF Spooling: spooling data type section (default: Raw)

Color/Paper Settings: If each application has its own configurations for color, paper type, or paper source, then those configurations are the top priority.

Early wake up printer: This is a performance option. The device will awaken when the user opens a printing window.

Customized tray mapping
Customized Tray Mapping works for specific applications (only for MX3 series or higher). Use the instructions to set Custom Tray mapping.

Print a job from the application that you want to map a tray to.

Check Customer Tray Mapping. To get there, click Properties, Device Options, then Advanced Features.Figure : Customized tray mapping

Click Add. (The add menu is enabled after the first step.)Figure : Clicking Add opens the Details page

Check the application, set the tray for this application, and then click OK.The list is updated.
note:When documents are not to be printed to a particular tray from applications that do not use the standard tray information (non-standard applications), the user can specify an appropriate tray.
Job accounting
Job Accounting enables you to associate User and Account identification information with each document you print.
Points to take note of:

Job Accounting Settings are only for printers that support HDD (default or optional).
- Print job will include accounting information on the job data, and the actual behavior depends on the device accounting configuration.

note:On the shared printer driver environment, once Admin Job Accounting is set as enabled, then admin configuration will be the default for all client PCs. It must be unchecked to allow client PCs to set their own account information.Figure : Example of menu unsupported on client PCs in shared printer environment
Additional features
There are additional features for models with optional storage, and capability of SPL and PCL.
The Storage Options are only for devices that support optional storage:

Proof, Confidential jobs: RAM or HDD

Stored, Job Encryption (Advanced > Security: HDD)

The Printer Configuration option is only for devices that support both SPL and PCL6. Printer driver type (language) can be modified with this option. The default might vary among different models.
note:When printing performance is too slow, changing Printer Language can be a solution.
