HP Compaq tc4200 Tablet PC - The Input Panel or Writing Pad is Taking too Much Space on the Screen

Issue:
On the HP Compaq tc4200 Tablet PC the input panel or writing pad may take too much space on the screen (up to one third of the screen in portrait mode)
Solution
Solution A
  1. Tap the Tools and Options icon (it looks like a gear) on Input Panel itself.
  2. Tap Options.
  3. Tap the Character Pad tab.
  4. Reduce the Size of the writing spaces to a smaller value (Smallest 5mm - Largest 50mm).

If the input panel (or writing pad) does not reduce in size despite applying solution A then apply solution B :

  1. Start Windows XP Tablet PC Edition in safe mode (by pressing F8 at start up)
  2. Launch Regedit (Click Start - Run and Type "Regedit")
  3. Locate the key "IPTipSoftKeyboardHeight" (Edit - Find - Type "IPTipSoftKeyboardHeight")
  4. Modify the value of the key to "aC0" (Hexadecimal)
  5. Close Regedit
  6. Restart Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.
