DESCRIPTION

Your system may lose network connectivity in Windows 7 operating system and a bang in Device Manager will appear on the Network adapter. This may be observed after the system resumes from Sleep (S3) state. This issue may occur when:

ME firmware version is equal to or newer than 11.6.27.3264

Windows 7 Operating System

Consecutive Sleeps(S3) events, without hibernation(S4)or system Restarts between each Sleep(S3) event.

System Network adapter is the Intel I219 LAN

RESOLUTION

Steps to Resolve:

Navigate to URL https://support.hp.com.
Enter Product Name and select the model of Operating System.
Under "Driver-Network", Download "Intel Network Connection Drivers Release 22.3.1 for Windows 7 64-bit"

*The softpaq number to reference under the Driver-Network is "SP81957".

To note:

-There is no issue with the current Windows 10 driver, but for reference a new Windows 10 driver has also been released as "SP82010". HP suggests updating your Windows 10 systems to this latest driver.
