HP LaserJet Enterprise 700 color MFP M775 - Connect the printer to a network by using a network cable and install the software (Windows)

Configure the IP address
  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on and in the Ready state.
  2. Connect the network cable to the printer and to the network.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds before continuing. During this time, the network recognizes the printer and assigns an IP address or host name for the printer.
  4. Locate the printer’s IP address on the printer control panel.
      note:
    The steps vary depending on the control-panel type.

    • FutureSmart 3: On the printer control panel, touch the Network button.
    • FutureSmart 4: On the printer control panel, touch the Information icon, and then touch the Network button.
    If you are unable to locate the printer’s IP address on the printer control panel, you can print a configuration page. The IP address or host name is listed on the configuration page.
    Follow the steps below to print a configuration page.
      note:
    The steps vary depending on the control-panel type.

    1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, scroll to and touch the Administration button.
    2. Open the following menus:
      • Reports
      • Configuration/Status Pages
      • Configuration Page
    3. Touch the Print button to print the configuration page.
        note:
      If the printer is connected to a network, a Jetdirect page will also print.
    4. Find the IP address on the Jetdirect page.
      • IPv4: If the IP address is 0.0.0.0, or 192.0.0.192, or 169.254.x.x, you must manually configure the IP address. Otherwise, the network configuration was successful.
      • IPv6: If the IP address begins with "fe80:", the printer should be able to print. If not, manually configure the IP address.

    1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, scroll to and select Reports.
    2. Select Configuration/Status Pages.
    3. Select Configuration Page.
    4. Select Print to print the configuration page.
        note:
      If the printer is connected to a network, a Jetdirect page will also print.
    5. Find the IP address on the Jetdirect page.
      • IPv4: If the IP address is 0.0.0.0, or 192.0.0.192, or 169.254.x.x, you must manually configure the IP address. Otherwise, the network configuration was successful.
      • IPv6: If the IP address begins with "fe80:", the printer should be able to print. If not, manually configure the IP address.

Install the software
  1. Close all programs on the computer.
  2. Install the software from the CD.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. When prompted, select the Connect through a wired network option.
  5. From the list of available printers, select the one that has the correct IP address. If the printer is not listed, manually enter the printer's IP Address, Host Name, or Hardware Address.
  6. At the end of the installation, click the Finish button, or click the More Options button to install more software or configure basic digital sending features for the printer.
  7. Print a page from any program to make sure that the software is correctly installed.
