Change the log level for the SystemTraceDSS.log files for HP Web Jetadmin

Change the log level for the SystemTraceDSS.log files for HP Web Jetadmin

HP Web Jetadmin creates SystemTraceDss.log.n files, where n is an incrementing number. These log files are available in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\HP Inc\Web Jetadmin 10\HPWSProAdapter\FileSystems\MachineData\Panther\Log
The log files in this directory must be removed manually. In HP Web Jetadmin 10.3 SR8 and earlier, the default log setting is ALL. This log setting can generate a lot of log entries. Therefore, the default log setting for versions of HP Web Jetadmin after 10.3 SR8, has been changed to ERROR.
The log level can also be changed manual. Use the following steps to manually change the log level:
  1. Copy the HP.Dss.App.Service.exe.Configuration.config file to a different location. This file is available in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\HP Inc\Web Jetadmin 10\HPWSProAdapter\FileSystems\Product\Panther\Configuration
  2. Open the file in an editor.
  3. Change all occurrences of level value="ALL" to level value="ERROR". You can use the global replace feature.
  4. Save the file. Make sure that the .txt file extension is not added when the files is saved.
