HP Printers - An 'Incorrect Paper Size' Error Displays on the Control Panel When Using Apple AirPrint

This document is for HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One printers, HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One printers, HP Officejet 7110 Wide Format ePrinters, HP Officejet 7610, 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One printers, HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One printers, and HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One printers.
An 'Incorrect Paper Size' error displays on the printer control panel when printing from an Apple iPhone, iPad, or Mac using Apple AirPrint.

To clear the error message and print from the Apple device, go to the printer's Embedded Web Service (EWS) page, and then change the printer paper settings.
  1. On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon ().
    The network and IP address information displays.
  2. Type the printer's IP address into a web browser address bar.

  3. From the printer's EWS page, click the Settings tab.

  4. Under Preferences, click Paper Settings.
  5. Under Default Media Size, click the drop-down menu, and then select the desired media size.
      note:
    The default paper size for Apple AirPrint is 4×6 inches. Make sure that the Paper Settings on the printer's EWS page match the paper size settings on the Apple device.

      note:
    Changing the Default Media Size affects future print jobs. It might be necessary to change the Default Media Size when printing documents that are not the same size as the documents you are printing with Apple AirPrint.
  6. Try the print job again.
