HP LaserJet Pro P1102w and P1606dn Printers - Printer Continuously Prints the Same Print Job After it is Installed on a Network

This document is for the LaserJet Pro P1102w and P1606 printers.
After you install the printer on a network, the printer keeps printing the same print job continuously until you cancel the print job.

Solution one: Disable bidirectional support

The bidirection support feature can cause printing issues with your HP printer. Follow these steps to disable bidirectional support.
  1. Click the Windows icon (), and then click Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click the HP printer, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Ports tab.

  4. Make sure that the Enable bidirectional support checkbox is unchecked. If it is checked, click the checkbox, click Apply, and then click OK.
  5. Print a test page to confirm that you have resolved the problem:
    1. Click the Windows icon (), and then click Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click the HP printer, and then click Properties.
    3. Click Print a test page. The test page begins printing.

Solution two: Uninstall and reinstall the printer software

Follow these steps to uninstall and then reinstall the printer software.

Step 1: Use the uninstall utility to remove the HP software

  1. Click the Windows icon (), and then click All Programs.
  2. Click HP, and then click HP LaserJet Professional P1560 and P1600 printer.
  3. Click Uninstall.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to remove the software.

Step 2: Reinstall the printer software
