HP Designjet Printers - How to Print AutoCAD Plots that Contain Imported Bitmap or Graphic Images

Issue:
When printing AutoCAD files that contain imported graphical images such as Excel Spreadsheets, Bitmap images, or other raster images, using an AutoCAD driver or an HP/GL-2 ADI driver, the drawing plots correctly except the imported image or bitmap does not print.
Solution
See the following:
  1. Configure AutoCAD to use the System Printer ADI 4.2 by AutoDesk.
  2. Set the correct Designjet printer in Windows to the default printer (the Windows printer driver supports raster data processing so the image will print).
  3. Use the ADI driver to print the files that contain raster data.
      note:
AutoCAD 14 is able to print raster data using the ADI driver, although the mentioned option can be used with AutoCAD 14 to improve the quality of prints with Images or Spreadsheets.
Cause
This issue has to do with the way the ADI (AutoDesk Device Interface) drivers work. These drivers cannot produce raster data and therefore leave the imported raster data out of the plot information.
