HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Enabling the IMAX features

This document provides information on how to enable the IMAX feature for enhanced video and audio on select HP computers with IMAX Enhanced Certification.

Enable the IMAX display settings

Follow these procedures to enable the IMAX display settings.

Note:

Make sure that your device supports the IMAX feature. Locate an IMAX Enhanced logo on the box.

Determining whether your computer is IMAX enhanced
  1. Connect your computer to AC power.

  2. In Windows, search for and open Settings.

  3. Select System, and then select Display.

  4. Configure the following settings:

    • Set Brightness to 100%.

    • Set Night Light to Off.

    • Set Use HDR to On.

      Note:

      This setting automatically turns off if the AC adapter is disconnected.

    Changing the display settings

Enable the IMAX audio settings

Follow these procedures to enable the IMAX audio settings.

  1. In Windows, search for and open myHP.

  2. Select Devices, select PC Device, and then select Audio control.

  3. In the Presets section, select Movie.

    Note:

    If you have headphones or a headset connected to the computer, be sure that your headphones or headset are selected under Output and Input. The available preset options vary depending on whether you have headphones or a headset connected to the computer.

    Note:

    HP recommends that you use the Music preset when you are not using the IMAX feature.
