During printer setup, the printer does not connect to HP cloud services and an Unable to register the printer to your account error displays with the error code UA_200_OWSVD00001 or OW_4XX_0WSWS00001 in the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start. Finish printer setup to register the printer
to your account.
Perform the following tasks in the order given. Try to complete the printer setup
after each task.
Make sure printer is connected to the internet
Make sure the printer is connected to an active internet connection.
On the printer control panel, locate the Wireless icon or light
.

If the Wireless icon or light is solid blue, it is connected to the network. Skip
to Step 3.
-
If the Wireless icon or light is blinking, reconnect your printer to a wireless network.
Place the printer within the range
of the Wi-Fi router signal, and then connect it to the network.
Printers with a touchscreen
Connect the printer to an active internet connection.
-
On the printer control panel, touch the Home button
.
-
If the HP Software is setting up your printer… message displays, touch
.
-
Touch Exit.
A Firmware Update screen opens.
-
Touch Next, select your preference, and then touch Save.
-
Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard,
and then follow the on-screen instructions
to select the network name and enter the password.
Printers without a touchscreen
Perform a Wi-Fi reset, and then connect your printer to the connect to the wireless
network.

Find your printer series below and perform a Wi-Fi Reset.

HP LaserJet M207e–M212e, MFP M232e–M237e printers

If the control panel is blank, press or touch the Cancel button to exit sleep mode.

Press and hold the Information button for five seconds, and then release the button.
All control panel buttons light up.

Press the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously once, and then release the buttons.
Depending on your printer model, setup mode is indicated by either the status light
on the front of the printer pulsing purple,
or the wireless icon on the control panel cycling.

HP LaserJet M109e-M112e printers
-
If the control panel is blank or the Ready light is dim, press the Resume/Cancel button to exit sleep mode.

Press and hold the Wireless button for 20 seconds until the Attention light blinks.
-
Wait for about a minute after the printer resets and the Wireless light blinks.

HP LaserJet M139, M139e, M142, M142e printers

If the control panel is blank or the Ready light is dim, press the Cancel button to exit sleep mode.

Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons for five seconds.

HP DeskJet 2700e, 4100e printers
-
On the printer control panel, press the Cancel button to ready the printer.

Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for five seconds until the Power button starts blinking.
Note:
Your control panel might look different than the following example, but the steps
are the same.

Wait until the blue Wireless light blinks.

HP ENVY 6000e, 6400e printers
On the rear of the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi Reset button for five seconds, and then release the button.

Return to the error window, and then click Exit Setup.

From the HP Smart app home screen, remove the printer.
-
For Windows and Mac, right-click the printer name, and then click Hide.
-
For Android and iOS, long-press the printer name, and then tap Hide.
-
Click Add Printer or
.

Wait for HP Smart to find your printer, and then click Set Up to connect to the wireless network.
Update the printer firmware
Check for and install any available printer firmware updates that include new features
or resolve issues.
Update the printer firmware from the touchscreen
Update the firmware from the touchscreen of your printer.
Make sure the printer is connected the internet using a wireless or Ethernet connection.
USB connections will not work.

On the printer control panel, touch the Home button
.

If the HP Software is setting up your printer… message displays, touch
.

Touch Exit.
A Firmware Update screen opens.

Touch Next, select your preference, and then touch Save.

Touch the Setup, Service, or Settings menu.
-
Touch Preferences, Printer Maintenance, or Tools.

Touch Web Services, Printer Update, or LaserJet Update.
-
If prompted, follow the instructions to turn on the Web Services.

Select Check for Updates or a similar option.
Update the printer firmware through the HP Smart app
Use the HP Smart app to check for and install firmware updates.

Open the HP Smart app, and then create an account or sign in. If you do not have HP
Smart, download it from 123.hp.com or your app store.

If you are setting up HP Smart for the first time, you must create or sign in to an
HP account to access all printer functions.
-
On the app home screen, select your printer name or image.
-
Under Advanced, select Advanced Settings or Printer Home Page (EWS).
-
Select Tools or Web Services.
-
If prompted, enter the printer administrator password or PIN from the printer label.
-
Click Printer Updates or Product Update, and then click Check Now. Any firmware updates automatically download and install onto your printer.
CAUTION:
Do not turn off the printer during a firmware update. This can permanently damage your printer.
Restore factory defaults on your HP printer
Reset the printer to remove all previous printer settings and preferences.
Restore factory defaults (printers with touchscreens)
Restore the printer to factory default settings from the touchscreen settings menu.

On the printer control panel, touch the Setup icon
, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

Touch Restore, and then touch Restore Factory Defaults.

On the confirmation prompt, touch Continue to complete restoring to factory defaults.
Restore factory defaults (printers without touchscreens)
Reset the printer to factory default from the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

On your computer or mobile device, open the EWS.
-
If prompted, enter the printer administrator password or the PIN from the printer
label.

On the EWS page, click the Settings or System tab.
-
Click Restore Defaults or Services, and then click Restore Factory Defaults.

Click the Restore Factory Defaults button.

Wait until the reset is complete, and then continue to the next step.
