HP Scitex FB5x0/7x0 Printers - Full Bleed Printing at maximum printer width is available

• Full Bleed Printing at maximum printer width is now available with the new printer driver upgrades forthe Onyx and Caldera RIPs.
• This newsletter describes the steps to upgrade the Caldera printer driver to Caldera V10.1 and Onyx printer driver to ONYX 11.1.2.
• Max Width Full Bleed printing is available for the following printers:
  • HP Scitex FB500
  • HP Scitex FB550
  • HP Scitex FB700
  • HP Scitex FB750
• A link to documentation for full bleed printing at maximum printer width is included.

Please, note that the higher version might be available in the future with the functionality already included.

Full Bleed Printing at maximum printer width

The main benefit of this feature is the capability of printing a file slightly wider than the maximum width of the media supported by the printer. Therefore, with this functionality, edge-to-edge printing is also assured with the widest supported substrates:

• HP Scitex FB500/550
  • Maximum width of loadable substrate: 64 in(162’56 cm).
  • Maximum width of printable file: 64’6 in (164’08cm).
• HP Scitex FB700/750
  • Maximum width of loadable substrate: 98’4 in (249’94cm).
  • Maximum width of printable file: 98’89 in (251’18cm).

Please follow the next steps in order to upgrade Caldera:

1. Go to: https://extranet.caldera.com/ or https://usernet.caldera.com/

   note:

   Please, take into account that moving from previous versions such as Caldera V9 will require the purchase of the V10 upgrade. Please, contact your reseller for sales conditions.

2. Log in to your Caldera usernet/extranet account.
3. Click on Download/Drivers.
   
4. Select the correct Caldera RIP version and the correct printer model.
   
5. Download the latest driver and media set from the download/Drivers section.
6. Install the driver: run the “HP-Scitex-FB5x0/FB7x0-WithProfiles-101.calpatch” or “HP-Scitex-FB5x0/FB7x0-101.calpatch” installer depending on your printer model.

Please follow the next steps in order to upgrade Onyx:

1. Open the Onyx Printer&Profile Download Manager.
2. Select the version Onyx 11.1.2.
   
3. Select the correct printer model, check the box with your configuration and press Download Now.
