Loading Paper and Envelopes for HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M251n and M251nw Printers

Introduction

This document describes how to load paper and envelopes into the printer.

Your printer might look slightly different than the one pictured, but the steps are the same.

Loading paper

Follow these steps to load paper.

Loading the paper input tray

Follow these steps to load paper into the paper input tray.

Pull out the paper input tray.

Slide the paper guides to their outermost positions.

note:
To load legal-size paper, extend the paper input tray by pressing and holding the extension tab while pulling the front of the tray outward.

Place the stack of paper print side up in the paper input tray, and then make sure that the stack is flat at all four corners.
Slide the paper guides inward so that they rest against the stack of paper.

Push down on the paper to make sure that the paper stack sits below the paper limit tabs on the sides of the paper input tray.

note:
The tray capacity is 150 sheets.

Loading Envelopes

Envelope Guidelines

Do not use envelopes with clasps, snaps, windows, coated linings, self-stick adhesives, or other synthetic materials that are susceptible to heat.
Do not use envelopes that are wrinkled, nicked, stuck together, or otherwise damaged.
If you use envelopes with peel-off adhesive strips, make sure they are approved for use in laser printers.
Only use envelopes recommended for laser printers.
Use envelopes with seams that extend to the corners.

Follow these steps to load envelopes into the paper input tray.

Pull out the paper input tray.

Slide the paper guides to their outermost positions.

Remove any paper from the tray.
Load envelopes in the middle of the tray with the print side facing up and the stamp end in first.

note:
The tray capacity is 10 envelopes.
Slide the paper guides inward so that they rest against the envelopes.
Slide the paper tray back into the printer.
