HP Color LaserJet CM6030/CM6040 Multifunction/CP6015 Printer series - "Replace Cartridge Message" Occurs with a New Cartridge

Issue

A Replace cartridge message occurs with a new cartridge.
After exchanging a toner cartridge, the device displays a message asking to insert a new toner cartridge. When this message occurs, reinsert the old toner cartridge and see if message disappears.

Solution

  1. Power cycle the printer and Verify the “Replace Cartridge” message is still present.
  2. Remove ALL the cartridges (Toner and Drum cartridges).
  3. Power cycle the printer
  4. Install one by one of the cartridges when the printer requests them
  5. Verify that the new cartridge is recognized by printing the Supplies Status Page.
