Introduction

You might need to perform a partial reset to restore the HP All-in-One to proper operation. A partial reset does the following:
  • Resets the user settings to the factory defaults.
  • Resets the language and country/region settings on some models.

Performing a Partial Reset of the AiO

Follow these steps to perform a partial reset, depending on your product model.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a) All-in-One Printer

This model has a two-line display.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.
  2. Wait for 20 seconds.
  3. Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.
  4. Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier (A909n) and 8500 Wireless (A909g) All-in-One Printers

These models have a touch-screen display.
  1. Touch the Setup () icon.
  2. Scroll to and touch Tools.
  3. Scroll to and touch Restore Factory Defaults. A Defaults Restored message displays.
  4. Press the Cancel button to return to the main menu.
