HP Designjet 10ps, 20ps, 30, 120 and 130 Printers - Some Pantone Colors Print Incorrectly when Using the Automatic Pantone Calibration Feature

Issue:
When using the Automatic Pantone Calibration feature in the Postscript RIP, some PANTONE colors print in grayscale or are extremely dark.
Solution
Two options are available:
  • Download and install the Pantone tables for the printer from www.designjet.hp.com. Use the Printer Pantone Tables rather than those Pantone tables provided by the Application. When used, these tables adjust the color values at the application level so that accurate color values are used from the beginning. Disable Automatic Pantone Calibration when using these tables to avoid the change in CMYK values.
  • Use a higher paper quality and/or print quality setting. Plain and Bright White papers are not suitable candidates for accurately depicting Pantone colors. A Heavy Weight paper or Gloss paper is better suited to represent Pantone colors more accurately.
