HP Designjet 5500 Series Printers - Importing WebAccess Accounting Data into Excel

Introduction

The accounting data generated in the WebAccess tool can be imported into Microsoft Excel for many additional uses. To do this, follow the steps below:
  1. Create the following three-line text file using a simple text editor such as Notepad.

  2. Modify the third line of the file, replacing "myPrinterIP" with your printer's IP or DNS name.
    note:
    Contact your system administrator if you do not know this information.
  3. Save the file on your system, naming it with an .iqy extension.
  4. Start Excel with a blank worksheet, and position your pointer on a cell where you would like to put the results.
  5. Click Data, Get External Data, Run Web Query, and then specify the location of the file you saved in Step #3.
  6. The accounting information will be deposited in adjacent cells of your worksheet.
