HP Designjet 2800CP and 3800CP Printers - How to Setup the Fiery Downloader Software

Issue:
How do I setup up the Fiery Downloader Software?
Solution
The software used to download files directly to the Fiery RIP is the HP Fiery Downloader software. To be able to print through the Fiery RIP, the downloader software must be configured. (Software is located on the User's Support CD-ROM disc).
DETAILS: The four configuration values are:
  • Nickname: Name by which the port is known. (It is easier to recognize “Steve's Printer” than 15.180.9.220.)
  • Protocol: Protocol that is to be used for printing. It could be IPX or SPX.
  • Server name: In TCP/IP, the IP address of the Fiery RIP.
  • New Device: This is the key value. You must write DJCP, and it must be in capital letters. If you use any other value, the communication between the computer and the RIP will fail, and when you will try to download a file, an error related to the queues will appear (“None of the queues are available”).
See the illustration below for additional clarification:
Figure : Add New Server
  note:
The name "DJCP" must be entered using UPPERCASE letters and not as "djcp" or a Windows error message of None of the queues are available may appear.
