HP DesignJet Printers - Monochrome Plot Appears Gray and Jagged

Issue:
When plotting a monochrome plot from Windows, the black is not very dark, and some of the lines are jagged or light in appearance.
Solution
The Windows driver is probably sending grayscale information.
  1. Depending on which printer is being used, either check that the front panel LCD under pen settings, or from the setup sheet, the palette, is set to equal software.
  2. HP’s HP/GL-2 Windows driver contains a choice to convert colors to pure black.
    • First, go to the printer Properties or Setup, depending upon the operating system being used.
    • Second, Click the Options tab.
    • Third, check the Color As Grayscale option.
    • Fourth, click the Color Control button.
    • Lastly, click the Convert Colors To Pure Black option. Resend the plot.
