Shortcuts for the HP Smart app are one-touch scan tasks that complete one or more file actions at once, such as sending over email, printing a copy, and saving to a cloud account.
For HP ENVY Inspire or eligible OfficeJet Pro printers, you can set up and run email Shortcuts directly from the printer control panel.
Create a new or edit an existing Shortcut to run from the HP Smart app.
Create a new Shortcut or edit an existing one with the HP Smart app.
Open the HP Smart app, and then click Shortcuts.
From My Shortcuts, create a new or edit an existing Shortcut.
To create a new Shortcut, click Add Shortcut, and then select Create your own Shortcut, or select a preset for guided setup, such as Save to Google Drive or Print, Email, and Save.
To edit an existing Shortcut, click the Shortcut Settings icon , and then click Edit or Delete.
Select a Shortcut destination to add it or change the default settings.
Print destination: Print a copy of the file. Use the drop-down menus to change the number of Copies, select Color or Grayscale, and enable or disable Two-sided printing (if supported).
Email destination: Send your file to one or more email addresses. Enter one or more email addresses, and then edit the Subject and Body to personalize your message.
Save destination: Connect and save your file to a cloud storage account, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. After signing in to a cloud account, an HP Smart folder is automatically created for Shortcut files.
Enter a Shortcut Name, and then enable Quick Run if you want to skip file editing and preview.
For HP Smart Advance only, enable Smart File Name to generate a name automatically based on the file text, if available.
For Email and Save destinations, select how you want to save the file.
To save it as one file, click Basic PDF.
To save it as separate files, select Image (*.jpg).
For HP Smart Advance only, select Searchable PDF, Word Document (*.docx), or Plain Text (*.txt) to save the file as a searchable or editable text.
Click Save Shortcut.
Select a Shortcut from the HP Smart app, and then scan or upload a file to run the destination tasks.
Open the HP Smart app, and then click the Shortcuts tile.
Select the Shortcut you want to use, and then scan the original file, or upload an existing one (mobile devices only).
If Quick Run is enabled, the Shortcut automatically runs and you are done.
If Quick Run is disabled, change any desired file settings, and then click Start [Shortcut name].
Wait a few minutes for the Shortcut to process.
To view the Shortcut status, click the Notification icon on HP Smart app home screen, and then click Shortcuts under Activity Center.
Set up a scan-to-email Shortcut and run it directly from the printer control panel on an HP ENVY Inspire 7200, 7200e, 7900, 7900e, OfficeJet Pro 8020e, 8030e, 9010, 9010e, 9020, or 9020e printer.
Use the HP Smart app to enable Shortcuts on the printer control panel.
Open the HP Smart app, click Shortcuts, and then click Enable on the Shortcuts Access prompt. You can also click the Settings icon to enable Printer Access.
Set up and run a Shortcut to email scans directly from the printer control panel.
To view the Shortcut status, click the Notification icon on HP Smart app home screen, and then click Shortcuts under Activity Center.

The Shortcuts tile might be missing if you are not signed in to an HP Smart account, the tile is disabled, or the printer does not support Shortcuts.
