The laptop starts, but the screen is blank or unresponsive

When you press the power button, lights blink or turn on, a fan spinning sound is heard, but the screen remains black, and the notebook does not start.

If the computer is on, but the screen remains blank, go to HP Notebook PCs - Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank (Windows 10, 8).
