DESCRIPTION
Various Windows apps (Previously known as Metro Apps) become unresponsive when opened. The apps then close immediately.
The following apps may exhibit the symptoms:
  • Calendar
  • Camera
  • Groove Music
  • Movies & TV (Movies & Film)
  • Mail
  • Money
  • Microsoft
  • Edge
  • News
  • Skype
  • Weather

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (32-bit)
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, run the troubleshooter for Windows apps then update to the latest versions of the app from the Windows Store:
  1. Open the Microsoft Store from the Desktop.
  2. Click the User Profile icon next to the Search box.
  3. Select Downloads and Updates.
  4. Click Check for Updates.
  5. Select Update all apps, or update the app which is exhibiting the issue.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    Once the update is completed, the app is ready for use.
