Issue:
The HP DesignJet 650C printer carriage and cutter are jammed and not moving.
Solution
Follow the steps below to correct this issue:
  warning:
Please use caution when moving the carriage and/or the cutter by hand. Do not run hands or fingers along the thin strip (encoder strip) behind the carriage as it is sharp and can cut you. Also take care when moving the carriage and cutter not to run your hands or fingers along any other sharp objects inside the printer.
  1. Power off the printer from the front panel and remove the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Open the top cover.
  3. Manually move the carriage all the way to the left side of the printer.
  4. The cutter should now be free from the carriage.
  5. Manually move the cutter assembly all the way to the right side of the printer.
  6. Plug power cord back into the printer, and turn the power back on from the front panel.
  7. The printer should now initialize and display "STATUS Ready to Plot" on the front panel when initialization is complete.
  8. The HP DesignJet 650C printer is now ready.
