Use genuine HP ink cartridges for your printer.

Purchase genuine replacement ink cartridges from local retail stores or from HP at www.hp.com/go/suresupply.

Remove and replace an ink cartridge

Replace the ink cartridge with a new, genuine HP ink cartridge.

Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.
Open the ink cartridge access door.

The ink carriage moves to the center.
Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
Press down on the ink cartridge you want to replace to release it, and then remove it from its slot.
Recycle the cartridge. To recycle the used cartridge, go to www.hp.com/go/recycle.
Remove the new cartridge from its package.
Holding the cartridge by its sides, remove the plastic tape using the pull tab.

CAUTION:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles, or reapply the protective tape. Touching these areas can result in an ink system failure.
Slide the cartridge into the slot at a slight upward angle, and then push up on the cartridge until it snaps into place.
Repeat this process for the other cartridge, if necessary.
Close the ink cartridge access door.
If an Alignment Page prints, follow the instructions on the page to align the cartridges and complete the installation.

Note:
If an Alignment Page does not print and an E0 error displays on the control panel, click Alignment already completed on the HP Smart app to complete the installation.
