Tera2 Zero Client and Remote Workstation Card Firmware – Service Location Protocol

A potential denial of service vulnerability has been identified in Tera2 Zero Client and Remote Workstation Card (RWC) Firmware when using Service Location Protocol (SLP). HP is providing recommended guidance to mitigate this potential vulnerability.

The Service Location Protocol (SLP, RFC 2608) is disabled by default on PCoIP Zero Clients and is enabled by default on Remote Workstation Cards.

No action is necessary if SLP has not been enabled. It is recommended to disable SLP if Zero Clients or Remote Workstations are exposed on the internet. SLP can be disabled following the steps below.

  • Check Support Page: The listed SoftPaq has been removed from the download site. SoftPaqs with newer versions may be available on the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads site.
