HP mt40 Mobile Thin Clients - Image May Not Deploy When Using ThinState Utility

DESCRIPTION
An operating system image will not deploy on the Thin Client using the ThinState utility. The issue occurs after saving the image from a different mt40 Thin Client using the ThinState capture process. The newly deployed system will not boot or include saved customizations.

SCOPE
Information in this document applies to the following:
Computers:
  • HP mt40 Mobile Thin Client
Operating Systems:
  • Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES 7)
RESOLUTION
Use the following precautions when saving an image using the ThinState capture process:
Boot from the ThinState USB drive and capture the image before rebooting to the notebook's internal HDD when the EnhanceWriteFilter is disabled.
After setting up the USB flash drive and the ThinState capture finishes, press F9 when the computer boots and select the USB Flash drive to boot from, or change the F10 Setup boot order to boot from the USB drive before the notebook's HDD.
  note:
If the notebook boots from the internal notebook HDD before performing the ThinState capture, the notebook will re-enable the EnhanceWriteFilter and the capture will not complete.
