HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G1 Tablets - Touchscreen Stops Responding After Upgrading to Windows 8

Issue

The Touchscreen functionality works with Windows 7. There is an available Atmel Touchscreen driver for Windows 7. After upgrading to Windows 8, the Touchscreen functionality is no longer working.

Solution

Windows 8 has native Touchscreen driver for this model of Tablets. Uninstall the Atmel Touchscreen Power Management Settings that was installed for Windows 7.
Follow the below steps to resolve the issue:
  1. Open Device manager.
  2. Navigation to the Atmel maXTouch Control & Atmel maXTouch Digitizer drivers.
  3. Right click on each one and go to Properties and then update driver.
  4. Manually update the drivers and choose the USB Input Device option instead of the Atmel Drivers.
  5. This will then put two entries (USB Input Device) under the Human Interface Device category.
  6. Restart the system.
  7. All touchscreen functionality will now work as normal.
