Hard disks are partitioned as follows:
-
800 MB (or more) for font storage
-
850 MB (or more) for PostScript internal use such as parsing, analyzing, rendering, preparing, and printing
-
410 MB (or more) for print management such as queuing and nesting
As an example, the 4.3 GB hard drive used for on the HP Designjet 3500CP printer provides 805 MB of storage space for fonts and color maps. Another 1650 MB are reserved for print management of PostScript (R) files (such as queuing and nesting) and 1625 MB are set aside for PostScript work on the hard disk (parsing or analyzing, rendering or preparing, and printing).
note:
Hard disk drive partitions cannot be changed, and are dependent on the size of the original installed drive. Additional hard drives cannot be added to the HP Designjet series printers. There are no upgrade paths to install larger hard drives.
