HP PCs and printers - Is Windows on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Windows 11 is available only in a 64-bit version.

Determine if your Windows 10 system type is 32-bit or 64-bit.

1. Search Windows for and open About your PC.

2. The version and system type are listed on the About screen.

Determine if your Windows 8 system type is 32-bit or 64-bit.

1. Right-click the lower left corner of the screen, and then select System.

2. The system type is listed next to System type.

Determine if your Windows 7 or Vista system type is 32-bit or 64-bit.

1. Click Start , and then right-click Computer.

2. Select Properties.

3. The system type is listed next to System type.

Determine if your Windows XP system type is 32-bit or 64-bit.

1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.

2. Select Properties, and then click the General tab.

3. If x64 Edition is listed under System, your computer has the 64-bit system type. If it is not listed, your computer has the 32-bit system type.

   

If your computer does not start, you can find the 32-bit or 64-bit system type on the product packaging, or online in a product specification document.

1. Search the HP Customer Support site for your computer model number and the word "specification".

   For example, if you owned an HP All-in-One 24-f0135 PC, you would type: 24-f0135 specification.

2. Click the link to your product specification document and scroll down to the software section. The system type is listed with the operating system; for example: Windows 10 Home (64-bit).

   Note:

   If 32-bit or 64-bit is not listed next to the name of the operating system, the system type is 32-bit.
